Dear Diary,

I have been here now a little over a week, and I have to say… I like it.

The girls are getting to know me, and I’m told I am much nicer than the previous guy. Apparently he was a bit rough. And mean.

Poor Molly has lost a lot of feathers because of him. Those girls are pretty difficult to manage though. I’ll have to practice. Right now they run circles around me.

The human is okay. She brings treats, but she also locks us into a pen all day. Well, most of the day. We complain, of course, but she says it’s to keep us safe from the fox.

I suppose I can’t really argue with that.

Anyway, they told me about this blog thing they did last year during lockdown, so I thought I’d give it a try.

The human was quite busy outside today, but that meant we were allowed out of the pen. She was making a lot of noise in the barn, attaching stuff to the side. The girls tell me the horses go into that place when it’s wet and cold.

Well, I suppose they need to roost somewhere, but I’m not sure how they do that in there. There’s no roosting bar, and they don’t have proper feet either.

It’s all very strange.

Greets,

Beaker the Newbie
